  • Anecdote: Emma Klaffling Emma had married a man by the surname of Oertel. She probably married in Germany by at least 1867 and had three known sons. Her husband's name and fate are unknown.

    At some time between about 1876 and 1880, Emma married a much younger man, Frederick A. Sieberg. She gave birth to two more sons and a daughter. In the 1900 census she declared that she was widowed.

    In the 1910 census, Fred Sieberg appears married to.
