    Resided at Framingham, Shrewsbury, Grafton and Marlboro.

    He had 10 children by his first wife, and 3 by the last. She died at Grafton, 3 Nov 1752, aged 38; and he, 2 Dec 1783, in his 94th year. His 2nd child and son, Luke, born 11 Mar 1737, occupied the home stall in Grafton, (since owned by Deacon Stone, and was in the New England village) where he was a miller, Deputy Sheriff, Capt., &c. "He led the Grafton minute men to Concord and Lexington, on the 19th of April, 1775. He enlisted a company, received a commission from the Committee of Safety, and joined the forces at Cambridge in the Regt. of Col. Jona. Ward, and was with his company in the battle of Bunker Hill, and subsequently commissioned Lt. Colonel.

    "He was a faithful and vigilant officer, and remained in the service beyond his engagement, at the pressing instance of Gen. McDougall, who begged him to accept his thanks for his services. He resided at Grafton for several years subsequent to 1786, and represented that town in the General Court.

    "He sold his mill, public house and farm at Grafton, and removed to Marlboro, where he died 1 Apr 1811, in his 74th year; and as he requested, was buried among the graves of his relatives and friends in the place of his nativity.".
