    Alice I. Richardson, 98, of St. Louis, Michigan, died Monday, Jan. 13, 2003 at Schnepp Healthcare Center in St. Louis. Funeral services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis Chapel on Thursday, Jan. 16, 2003 at 1 p.m. with Pastor John Robinson officiating. Entombment will be at Oak Grove Cemetery, St. Louis. Visitation will be today, Jan.15, 2003, from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or a charity of the donor’s choice.

    Alice was born on March 9, 1904 in Bethany Township, Gratiot County, the daughter of Henry & Nettie Elgenia (Baney) Bauer. She attended Vincent School in Bethany Township. She married Frank Y. Richardson on Dec. 12, 1926 in Gratiot County. He passed away in 1968.

    She was a homemaker who also worked at Park, Hotel and the Ben Franklin Store. She also worked in the kitchens at Gratiot Community Hospital and St. Louis High School. In the past, she was involved in the Gratiot County extension group for many years and she also helped to serve food for youths at the Gratiot County Fair for many years. Alice enjoyed her family, especially her grandchildren.

    She was a past member of the OES, Gleaners, McAbees and Epithian Sisters. She has resided most of her life in St. Louis.

    She is survived by two sons, Franklin & Ilah “Jackie”’ Richardson of Elwell, and Don & Delores “Dee” Richardson of Arizona two daughter-in-laws, Janet Richardson of St. Louis, and Wilma Richardson of St. Louis; seven grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; five step grand children nine step great grandchildren, three step great great grandchildren.

    She was preceded in.death by her parents; her husband; two sons, Gary & Henry “Hank” Richardson, both passed away in 2002; a grandson, Gregg in 1985; and five sisters.
