Roy died at home and his death was confirmed at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Red Bluff, California. He was cremated at the Chico Crematory in Chico, California and his ashes was scattered in the mountains outside of Portola in Plumas County,California.3

During the building of Shasta Dam he was a surveyor doing the shoreline of Shasta Lake. He also worked for Long Bell Lumber Company, in Weed, Siskiyou County, California. He loved to hunt and fish. He helped raise Mabel's children and grandchildren as his own. He was a wonderful grandfather..3
