  • Other: Benjamin Cleveland Wilkinson Eldest son of 5. Remained at home until after father's death and then went to Warren County and lived with uncle C.A. Cantrell until 19. Then returned to DeKalb County and attended school for 1 year.

    In spring of 1861 enlisted in 16th Tennessee Regiment Confederate Army, commanded by John H. Savage and in company A, commanded by L.H. Savage and was in battle of Perryville among others.

    At battle of Perryville received a sound and at Ringgld Georgia in 1863 was taken prisoner and remained in prison at Rock Island, Illinois until end of the war..1
