    Eliza Dackerell was born October 5, 1861 in Kankakee, Illinois, and died October 12, 1916, at the age of 55 years and seven days.

    At the age of 13 months, when her father died, she moved to Strawberry Point and has lived at or near this place ever since.

    She was married to Victor Gifford June 20, 1883, whom she survived a little over 13 years. To this union were born two sons, Fred Gifford living now in Riverfalls, Wisconsin, and Owen Gifford, who died in 1910.

    For the past three years Mrs. Gifford has made her home with Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Balluff, where she has been kindly cared for during continual suffering.

    Besides her son she leaves three grandchildren and two sisters to mourn her departure.

    Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon, conducted by C. C. Harris. Burial in Strawberry Point cemetery.4
