  • An Obituary for Winnie Mahaley Jane Owen appeared after 15 Jan 1933, Obituary
    Mrs. T. L. Cantrell passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ermel Jones here Sunday after a short illness. She had suffered some injuries a few weeks ago and just a week before she died, became very ill while attending the funeral of little Norma Lea Deason. She was taken to the home of her daughter here and later in the week pneumonia developed.

    Winnie Mahaley Jane Owens was born May 6, 1859 and died January 15, 1933 making her 73 years, 9 months, and 8 days. She was united in marriage to T. L. Cantrell in august of 1879. To this union were born three boys and three girls. Eliza Emeline the oldest preceded her in death in June 1931, Nancy Isabel, Alfred Blain, William Erwin, Bessie Jane , and David Wilbur. The remainder were present at her death.

    She leaves to morn her going a companion, five children, 9 grand children, 2 g-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

    Funeral services were conducted at the Licking church of Christ Monday afternoon by the writer, assisted by Brother Fred Stone, her body was then taken to the licking cemetery and laid to rest until the resurrection day.1
