    Evelyn Florence Gisel of Corvallis died Saturday at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center. She was 85.

    She was born in Fort Worth, Texas, to Homer and Margaret Gillentine McLendon and educated there. She married Emil Gisel in 1943. They moved to California in 1952, then to Grants Pass in 1966 where they lived until her husband died in 1994. She moved to Corvallis to be near her family.

    She was a member of Grant Avenue Baptist Church and Chintimini Senior Center. She enjoyed walking, reading, raising roses, cooking, her family and helping others.

    Survivors include her sons, Wayne of Philomath, and Glen of Raymond, Me; twin brother, Earl of Lufkin, Texas; two grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

    Visitation will be for one hour prior to the 1 p.m. service Thursday, Sept. 5, at Grant Avenue Baptist Church. Pastor Don Reeves will officiate. Interment will follow at Oak Lawn Memorial Park.

    Memorial donations can be made to Samaritan Village in care of McHenry Funeral Home, 206 N.W. Fifth St., Corvallis, OR 97330.
