  • Other: Joseph Sebastian Cantrall He remained at his place of birth until twenty years of age, when he went into the cattle trade, feeding and shipping until 1872, when he and two others laid out the town of Cantrall, Illinois. He then furnished ties and lumber for the S. & N.W. Railroad, from Petersburg to Springfield, and, in 1874, built the Cantrall Elevator, and went in the grain trade. He then built a large corn-crib, at Cantrall, with a capacity of 75,000 bushels of ear corn; it was two hundred feet long and thirty-five feet wide..2
