    Mrs Callie F Bartholomew, 85, of 600 Walnut Street, widow of the late Samuel Bartholomew died Friday morning at 11:10 o'clock at her home. She was a native of Brookfield Township, Trumbull County, Ohio.

    Mrs Bartholomew was a member of the local First Baptist Church. She had resided in Meadville since 1905.

    Of her 13 children, these seven survive: Charles R, Harmonsburg; Robert A, Guys Mills; Mrs Howard C Hills, Kent, Ohio; Mrs A C Luse, Mrs Ernest B Pratt, Mrs Ruth Ortman and Jay H Bartholomew, off of Meadville. Also surviving are a brother, Ransom Tribby, Hubbard, Ohio and a sister Miss Rhoda Bisby, at 600 Walnut Street, Meadville; 24 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

    Friends may call at the home. Services will be held at the Byham Funeral Home Monday at 1:30pm. Interment to be at Oakwood Cemetery, Sharon.

    Seven children and their families gathered at the home of Mrs Samuel Bartholomew, 600 Walnut Street last night to help her celebrate her 81st birthday anniversary.

    Also present were a brother Ransom Triby of Sharon and a sistser Mrs Rhoda Bisby. A tureen dinner was served to the large group, with a lovely musical birthday cake the center of attention.
    Mrs Barthololmew who has lived in Meadville for 37 years, received many beautiful flowers, gifts and cards of congratulation. Of her nine children, seven are living and were present for the observance; she also has 23 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

    Children's families attending were those of Charles Bartholomew of Harmonsburg, Mrs Thelma Hill of Akron; Mrs A C Luce, Mrs Ernest Pratt; Mrs E J Ortman, Robert and Jay Bartholomew all of Meadville..

Mr Bartholomew was a member of Summit Volunteer Fire Department.

    Surviving are two daughters, Mrs Leon (Caroline) Masquelier of Gardenia, Ca; Mrs George (Elma) Herst of Warren, Ohio; two sistsers, Mrs Howard (Thelma) Hills of Santee, Calif; and Mrs Edgar (Ruth) Ortman of Kent, Ohio; a brother, Jay Bartholomew of Meadville, a granddaughter, a great-grandson and several nieces and nephews.
    Services will be held at 11 am today at the Byham-McBride Funeral Home with the Rev John Sshaughnesy, pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church officiating. Internment will be at Morefield Cemetery, Hickory Township, Mercer County, at the convience of the family.

    She was born in Pennsylvania May 17, 1886, a daughter of Samuel and Callie F Tribby Bartholomew. She lived Meadville since 1905. Mrs Lluse was a member of First Baptist Church, Allthea Rebekah Lodge, Navy Mothers Club, American Legion Auxillary, Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, Mead Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, Gold Star Mothers and Adult Recreation Assn and Meadville Grange.

    She is survived by two daughters, Mrs Walter (Frances) Battin of Phoenix, Arizona and Mrs Claudine McCracken of Meadville; a son, Samuel N Luse of Youngstown; three sisters Mrs Elda Pratt of Meadville and Mrs Howard ( Thelma) Hills and Mrs Edgar ( Ruth) Ortman, both of Kent,Ohio; three brothers Charles, Robert, and Jay Bartholomew all of Meadville; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

    Friends may call after 7 pm today at the Russell D Kennedy Funeral Home wheere service will be held Saturday at 2pm. Interment will be at Roselawn Memorial Gardens.1
