Details as recorded: Cause of Death: per Elosie McMahon & her family Bible; Ruth died when she was 5 years old as the result of a head injury from a fall. Funeral memorial card gives Death date. Death card is in the possession of Shannon McMahon Jones. Per Frances McMahon August 1998, Ruth fell off of a chair off of the porch onto some rocks onto her head. Some bone fragments went into her head. She developed water on the brain. Frank was not home when the accident happened and Aunt Ida rode horse back into town to get the doctor. Ruth was in a hosptial for a short time until she died. She just started sleeping longer & longer. Buried in the Citizen's Cemetery, Foresters section, Flagstaff, Coconino Co., AZ plot 59. Others in Plot 59 are "Bertha Rose 1904-July 1934, and another with the word "Mother".1

    Per her sister, Frances McMahon, August 1998. Gertrude's "Suzy", brith was a very long and difficult one. Her father, Frank, went to town to get the doctor and then Frank & the doctor proceeded to go to the cellar where Frank kept his home brew and they both got drunk. Anyway sometime shortly after birth, Gertrude was dropped on her head and she develped cerebral palsy. She was unable to walk until after the age of 10. She was in the State Home and Regional Center for a number of years. She came home most every week end to stay with the family. After her death she was in a group home until her sister, Judy, died. After Judy's death Frances took her to Washington to live near her. Currently she is living in a group home in the Seattle area. Gertrude has a very cheerful and forgiving nature. She always seems happy and enjoys being around people and loves her family. She has a very good memory of family and family names and ages..1
