    A graveside service will begin at 2 p.m. Monday at Park Hill Cemetery for David E. Ponder, 63, who died on Wednesday, Jan. 22, 1997, of hepatitis.

    Mr. Ponder was born on Oct. 2, 1933, in Oak Grove, La., and moved to Vancouver in 1946.

    He worked as a pile driver in heavy construction and was a member of unions, including Pile Drivers Union 2416, the Carpenters Union and the Teamsters, all in Portland.

    Mr. Ponder also owned and operated a real estate development business.

    Survivors include three sons, Mike and Chris of Vancouver and Bryon of Boyds, Wash; four brothers, Edward W., Ray H., Melvin E. and Johnny J., all of Vancouver; two sisters, Grace Lean Dyer of Camas and Bobbi Jean Todd of Washougal; and three grandchildren.

    Memorial contributions may be made to Share Emergency Housing, 5609 N.E. 162nd Ave., Vancouver, WA 98662.

    Barbara Bliss Godwin, 87, Northfield, NH, died Wednesday, September 4, 2002. She was born August 9, 1915, in London Mills, IL, the daughter of Clark Roy Bliss and Isabelle Elizabeth (Walker) Bliss. She lived from 1927 until 2000 in Tulsa (and in western Canada from 1948 until 1957) before moving to New Hampshire. Survivors include a son, Roger Bliss Godwin of Andover NH; a daughter, Carolyn Joan (Godwin) Klein of Denver, CO; 11 grand-children; 8 great-grandchildren; 2 step-granddaughters; and many nieces and nephews. Her husband Jack Alford Godwin of Tulsa, OK, died in 1986. The family plans a private memorial service to be held later. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Community Health & Hospice Inc., 780 North Main Street, Laconia, NH 03246, and/or to the American Cancer Society.
