  • An Obituary for Lucretia Perry Osborn appeared on Tuesday, 15 Mar 1994, in The San Francisco Chronicle, San Francisco, California. Lucretia Perry Osborn McKleroy

A memorial service will be held Thursday for Lucretia Perry Osborn McKleroy, 77, an author and a member of many cultural organizations, who died Saturday in her Presidio Heights home in San Francisco, apparently of a heart attack.

A native of New York City, Mrs. McKleroy attended school in Long Island and Florence, Italy, before moving to San Francisco after World War II. She wrote children's stories and poetry, including an award-winning poem to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Golden Gate Bridge.

She was a founding member of the M. H. de Young Memorial Museum auxiliary, and later served as its president and as a museum trustee. She also was a trustee of the Katherine Delmar Burke School of San Francisco and active in the American Red Cross.

Surviving are a daughter, Perry King of Mill Valley, and three sons, Bruce of San Francisco, Alexander (Sandy) of El Sobrante, and Christopher of Los Altos. Her husband, San Francisco real estate investor William H. McKleroy, died in 1974.

The memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. at the Chapel of Grace, Grace Cathedral, Taylor and California streets, San Francisco.
