Children of: Frances M. Cantrell and Charles Franklin Cunningham

Memorable Moments & Stories

  • Other: Frances M. Cantrell Frances and Charles Cunningham were married by Charles Hart, Justice of the Peace and Judge.
Frances's date of birth is determined from census records. Date of death is estimated by a gift of a jewelry pin to her great granddaughter, Myra (Morton) Mayo, sometime around 1920. It was a birthday present for Myra when she was 8-10 years old. She still has the pin (1994).
Frances lived with her daughter, Myra Alice Scroggie, and family sometime after the death of her husband, Charles. Frances's granddaughter, Alice Scroggie, reported that she learned much about housekeeping from her grandmother. Frances was but 36 years old at Charles' death.
A newspaper clipping found in the Scroggie family Bible reports the death of Frances's son, Earnest. There is no date on the clipping, but Earnest would have died at age 11, around 1885. This clipping in the Scroggie Bible was crucial to our discovery that the Cantrell and Cunningham families were part of our family heritage..1
